Description

Low-noise 1000 Hz tuned amplifier/voltmeter. Scales are calibrated in SWR and dB for use with square law detectors.

Input frequency	1000 Hz, adjustable approx. ±5% by front panel knob.
Band-width	20 Hz or 100 Hz.
Sensitivity	1 µV rms for full scale deflection at max band-width
Noise	at least 6 dB below full-scale with input terminated in 5000 Ohms
Input	unbiased, with a (high impedance crystals) source impedance 2k-10 k Ohms
Range	70 dB in 6 steps of 10 dB and 10 dB variable by gain control
Accuracy	±0.1 dB/10 dB step, max cumulative error between any two 10 dB steps ±0.2 dB. ±0.05 dB when switching NORMAL-EXPAND

Operating Instructions

Use the gain control to adjust FINE and COURSE gains.
Connect instrument to the IN connector.
Press the '40 dB' button.
Put GAIN control in its centre position
Set BANDWIDTH switch to 100 Hz.
Move probe along slotted line to obtain maximum deflection
Adjust GAIN so that the pointer arrives exactly at 1.0 on the VSWR scale.
Move proble along slotted line to obtain minimum deflection.
Read the SWR directly from the upper scale. Repeat from step 4 for scales 2 and 3.
