Operating Instructions
- Put balance in desired position on the table. Make sure
the table does not wobble and the balance pan is clean and
free from loose material.
- Put weights and dial in zero positions, and read the null
position of the beam. If it is in off position rotate the
zero adjustment weight to bring it to the null.
- Put object to be measured on the scale pan or hang it from
the scale pan hook.
- Adjust main weights as close to balance as possible, on the
low side, while using right hand to restrict the beam
motion.
- Obtain the final balance with the dial, and take reading.
Begin next weighing at step 3. after returning the dial to
zero position.
Hints
- Check the zero occasionally throughout a set of readings.
- Check that 10 g on the dial is equal to 10 g on the
weights.
