Supplies alternating voltages in the high-frequency range from approx. 1.5 MHz to approx. 10 MHz (in two continuously variable bands). Applications include ultrasonics, gas excitation and amplitude modulation experiments.

Operating Instructions


  1. Connect to power supply (Leybold 522 35) with anode D.C. voltage of 300 V, 100mA (set power supply voltage to low).
  2. Ultrasonic experiments: Refraction on quartz crystal create a shadow projection on a wall (3 meters away).
  3. Gas Excitation: Connect ring-shaped discharge tube to generator. Set frequency to the 4 to 10 MHz range. An image should appear within 15 seconds.
