About Wave-Particle Duality

In the animation, we picture a Hydrogen atom.

In one view, we can think of the atom using a "planetary model" in which the electron is a particle in a circular orbit around the central proton.

In another view, we think of the electron as being a wave which has formed a stationary standing wave around the central proton.

Each of these views by itself are only part of the story. The reality is some sort of composite of these two views, although we can only visualise one of the views at a time.
