MasteringPhysics Software

You will be using MasteringPhysics (MP) software throughout the year. You will need the Student Access Kit which was included in your textbook package. In addition, you will require some course-specific information to set up your account.

You may access a document on MP, including the course-specific information and more, by clicking on the blue button to the right. The document will appear in a separate window.

Class Materials

The course coordinator, Dr. Savaria, introduced the part of the course that deals with theoretical physics, i.e. the classes and tutorials. You may access the pdf of his presentation by clicking on the button to the right; it will appear in a separate window. Dr. Savaria's introduction
I use a Tablet PC in class, on which I write. The program in which I write is called Journal, and later I convert the file to pdf. You may access the pdf file from today's class by clicking on the button to the right; it will appear in a separate window. The beginning is the introduction to the part of the course that deals with experimental physics, i.e. the laboratory, by Dr. Deyirmenjian.
Today I also used a PowerPoint presentation on the side screens of Convocation Hall. Much of the content of this was just a summary of the more complete description in class. You may access the slides, in pdf form, by clicking the button to the right; it will appear in a separate window.
Finally, we used "clickers" for the first time and asked a couple of questions. The introduction to the clickers and the questions we asked are available via this link; separate window. In-class question

Summaries of each class, similar to this one, will appear shortly after the class.

Do not use these summaries as a substitute for attending class.
For most students, they will not be as effective as attending the class.
